aurora ohioNestled between Cleveland and Akron, Aurora is a Northeast Ohio town with plenty of personality and fun places to check out! Are you already on your way? Experience these town staples as you get settled.

1. Get in Tune with Nature

Foliage, growth and green—welcome to Tree City USA! (Well, one of them, anyway.) Aurora is one of 3,400 communities designated by the National Arbor Day Foundation (@ArborDay) as a “tree city” under a certain set of established criteria. This set of guidelines includes a commitment to upkeep and maintain the city’s landscapes.

One of Aurora’s largest green spaces is Sunny Lake Park—463 acres of family fun, just waiting for your exploration! Sunny Lake is home to the following:

  • 1.75 mile paved exercise trail.
  • 3 baseball/software fields (with lights)
  • 68 acre fishing lake.
  • Boathouse (with row and paddle boat rentals)
  • Dog park
  • Horseshoe pits.
  • Nature trails.
  • Large and small pavilions (with access to picnic tables and grills)
  • Playground structures.
  • Sand volleyball court.

Which activity could you dive into?

2. Shop Til You Drop

Since 1970, Aurora Farms Premium Outlets has been a shopping destination for Aurora tourists and community members. Located on South Chillicothe Road, this Aurora establishment is set in a gorgeous landscape that includes a gazebo, walking paths and pond.

The 75-store complex has everything you need from designer fashion and sportswear for adults to children’s favorite clothing brands, shoes, fine leather and luggage, accessories and jewelry, housewares and home furnishings, food, gifts and specialty items—a fun destination for the whole family!

Thorn Creek has 11 varieties of wine, and a full menu of delicious appetizers and decadent desserts made from its culinary gardens and produce from local farms.
